Ukraine

By Josephine de Freitas

Thanks to the 1 Night Stand Fundraiser and generous donations we have been able to send $26,000 of funds and supplies to two  organizations in Ukraine who  work directly with refugees and those in need.

We have supplied vital medications to 2 hospitals. One was insulin for diabetic children and the other an essential kidney medication.  In both cases these were carried from Canada by volunteer Doctors travelling to Ukraine. They ensured that the meds were kept cold and delivered safely. This was done through our coordination with Icross , one of the many charities working together in the Corridor of Hope initiative that got so much done during the first days of the war.

Funds from Rose Charities are also contributing to a container that can convert into a mobile clinic. This will have the capacity to hold 17 hospital beds and be used as a primary healthcare clinic when the war is over.

Another volunteer organization Rose has partnered with is a group called Ukrainian Patriot. They travel around the country assessing for the most urgent needs. Funds from Rose have been used for essential medical supplies and drinking water in a small community.
