The International Service Learning Centre at UBC has chosen Stand Tall to host student teachers from UBC who wish to do an overseas practicum. Sunjum is one of these young teachers who arrived at Stand Tall in early June and will be working there for the month. She follows Anthony and Sara who were the first two student teachers to be sent by ISL. Their professionalism and flexibility in adapting quickly to their new environment set the bar high for those to follow. We have no doubt that Sunjum will exceed all expectations. She’s already a hit with the kids and has been working in the classroom and with our staff in creating lesson plans. We look forward to a continuing relationship with UBC and ISL. The experience is a mutually rewarding one and we expect that all involved will grow and develop their professional skills.
