Brighter Smiles Africa Updates

Ssenge school pupils

The children and teachers of the African Hearts School in Uganda are enjoying well earned holidays but our donors continue to work hard on their behalf.

The Lake country Big Band in Kelowna held a concert to raise money towards the rainwater collection system upgrades needed at the school, and sent out more instruments for the band with 2 doctors who are visiting Uganda and our project this month.

Marvin K is making great progress at school and has received another year of educational funding from Nolan and Samantha for which we are very grateful.

Dr Alex Kizito has posted a blog reply at about the value of his experiences in the Brighter Smiles program and the benefits he gained from being part of the recent International Colloquium on ‘Health Promoting Schools’ held in South Africa, where his participation was made possible by a grant from the Hillman Fund.
