Over $1500 was raised at the first Rose Charities Quiz Night in Vancouver. In the ROSE world that equals
– Restoring sight to 75 people who are blinded by cataracts, or
– Providing education and a daily hot lunches for 100 children, or
– Ensuring 3 gifted students have the opportunity to get a university degree, or
– Buying a cow for 30 families …

I could go on for pages but you get my drift:  many people will benefit from the generosity of the enthusiastic participants who came out on a cold, wet Thursday evening to test their general knowledge on issues such as “how many hearts does an octopus have” and “can you name the seven dwarfs?”.

A special thank you to Isobel and Hashmet at Simply French Cafe who handled the unexpectedly large crowd with aplomb, and a big thank you to everyone for their support and for so many entertaining, creative answers!   By popular demand a second quiz night is already in the works and will be held sometime in early April (stay tuned).

Just to remind you — if you are thinking about making a donation in lieu of a gift this year be sure to check out our website. You can donate on line and donations over $20 will be issued a tax receipt.
